At 9:00 am, you will be collected from your hotel and driven to Moshi to visit Materuni Waterfalls. Materuni is a village located at the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, owned by the Chagga tribe who inhabit all sides of the mountain. This was the first place where coffee plants were introduced in East Africa. You will learn and participate in the coffee-making process, from picking the beans from the trees, peeling their outer cover, washing and drying them, pounding to remove the second cover, roasting them, grinding to produce coffee powder, and making a cup of coffee by yourself, guided by the local people using traditional methods and tools. This cup of coffee is known as organic coffee, with less caffeine and no chemicals used to treat or boost the local coffee plants.

After the coffee experience, you will visit the waterfalls, which requires a 45-minute walk to reach and another 45 minutes to return. The waterfall is 90 meters high and surrounded by an open forest in the village, creating a beautiful sight. There is a pool where you can swim, but the water here is very cold due to the elevation of 2400 meters above sea level. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to taste local banana beer, made from bananas and millet, originating from this place. This is the longest waterfall in the Kilimanjaro region. In the evening, you will drive to Olpopongi for dinner and an overnight stay.
